Martian Child - Even if the kid isnt really an alien
music price musicians register hot Sauce Festival Buy/Sell Post an Ad Calendar: film tables Martian Child year approved : 2007 Directed By: Menno Meyjes Starring: John Cusack, Bobby Coleman, Amanda Peet, Sophie Okonedo, Joan Cusack, Oliver Platt, Richard Schiff, Anjelica Huston (PG, 106 min.) Only in Hollywood can a movie about alien children be boring. Even if the kid isnt really an alien (no spoilers), theres still opportunity galore for the wild and the weird. In the hands of director Meyjes, a movie about a boy convinced hes from Mars becomes Little Orphan Annie. Adapted (by screenwriters Seth Bass and Jonathan Tolins) from the semi-autobiographical book by famed sci-fi writer David Gerrold, the film follows David (Cusack), a widower and successful science fiction author who decides to adopt a 6-year-old boy (Coleman). The child is Dennis a recluse whose abuse and abandonment issues have left him convinced hes from Mars. This includes quaint little idiosyncrasies such as wearing a weight belt to fight Earths gravity and renaming the family dog Flomar (its Martian for warm furry friend). Once David brings Dennis home, the movie becomes a quirky relationship dramedy between fledgling father and son. And the two make a decent pairing. Colemans solid understated performance contrasts well with Cusacks neurotic first-time dad. While attempts to play baseball, attend school, and generally be normal all lead to various contrived hijinks, Cusacks genuine talent evokes a few smiles and maybe even a chuckle. But the lamely predictable script combined with the complete absence of any cinematic daring results in about 10 heavy sighs for every quiet laugh. Joan Cusack (who, like her brother, has great comedic timing) appears as (natch) Davids sister. And love blossoms with Davids deceased wifes best friend (Peet). Its all just so perfect. That is, of course, when the boredom begins. There are absolutely no surprises as the film disintegrates into its own cutesy display. Platt shows up as Davids literary agent and Huston as his demanding publisher, but neither presents any genuine conflict. ship

Lions for Lambs - But even as Janine parries with him, asking questions
as the basis of the official travel s illicitness recalls that of the war Stephen protested when he came home (attacking nations not okayed for attack by Congress), the film seems to condemn it at least insofar as the goals are articulated by the odious Senator Irving. But even as Janine parries with him, asking questions and visibly disbelieving the answers, stating outright that reporters, after Iraq, no longer trust their government sources, she also absorbs the guilt he assigns her: she and everyone else in the news business responded to the way terror colored that [9/11] morning in shades we d never seen before, as well as opinion polls, and told stories that supported perceived public desires. We both put our fighting men at risk, charges Jasper. I ve admitted my mistakes, will you?

Hitman - I personally really Hitman the video games enjoy, how
nuf said the fact that ! Says: July 15th, 2007 at 10:02 pm I actually really think that this movie looks as if it MIGHT actually do the series justice. I personally really Hitman the video games enjoy, how i ve played thru all of them since the first title (a rarity for me). I used to be a huge gamer, now I pick out occasional titles maybe once every 3 to 4 months, but Hitman is almost always one favorite since theres nothing else like it out there. I really think that it might have a chance all things considered. I think it looks kind of like a cross between La Femme Nikita, Leon the Profesional and The Transporter. And the french vein of action movies kindof goes hand in hand with Hitman . So who knows, we may be pleasantly surprised. I dont usually watch video game movies, Doom and Mortal Kombat being the exceptions (both crap). But I have a feeling about this one Says: July 18th, 2007 at 4:40 pm i think the trailer doesnt revile enough i would like 2 hear his voice for sure because by the way he looks he ll probably sound like a kid, true its hard 2 find people 2 play a video game character but when that character is based on a real person an actor at that plus he even does the voice in the game baffles me!, it does look ok i give it that but i hope that he doesnt find love and that he kills people because they are evil because then it will be nothing like been, which Hitman is, it, ll more like 007 (even though bond films are good)he shud b like the character in the game why is there a need to change it from that ?? hes a contract killer simple hes got no morals, simpathy and doesn t care about love all he cares about is his target, how to kill them and most of all his silverballers . i hope the movie does well i ll go see it but when i do i wont go in wive high preconceptions from the trailer like other game , if it does flop we ve just got 2 look forwards 2 Hitman is 5, which comes out !! andy Williamson Says: July 19th, 2007 at 4:00 am I m looking forward to this movie. The trailer was just a taster and I hope that it does well. The music in the trailer is , that in Hitman :Blood Money and I think reflects the character very well. Music of this ilk is used throughout the game series. Says: July 20th, 2007 at 10:17 am David Bateson he should have played the role. Why? Because he did the voice in all Hitman the plays is applied and they applied its face to make the shape of Hitman for the play, therefore do it look as Hitman and it its stimmen just like it. Plus, he s done some acting so he shows he s, the talent will preserve
